Course Description
SNA launched the post-registration Bachelor of Nursing course with La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia in October 1997. The first group graduated in August 1998.
This programme is designed to enable experienced Registered Nurses to expand their knowledge
base in the discipline of nursing and apply this to their practice without leaving home. It is being conducted over 20 months by distance learning with assessment briefings for each subject. Study guides, required readings and activities are supplied ahead of these briefings. An Education Audit Committee reviews the course contents and monitors the progress of the programme to ensure standard is maintained.

Entry Requirements
**For Registered Nurses (RNs) Only**
- Applicants must hold a nursing certificate or diploma from a recognised school of nursing (NYP and NP)
- Current nursing registration.
- Provide evidence of post-registration nursing experience
- Currently employed in an approved health care institution

- GCE 'O' Level (for Singaporeans)
- High School Certificate/equivalent AND RELC English Proficiency Certificate
- Nanyang Polytechnic Diploma AND/OR Advance Diploma Certificate & Transcript
- Singapore Nursing Board Registration Certificate
- Singapore Nursing Board Practising Licence
- 1 Passport size photograph
- Registration fee (cash or cheque / money order only)
- IELTS BAND of 6.0 with individual bandS of at least 6.0; OR
- at least a score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English (paper-based); OR
- 213 with a score of 5 in Essay Writing (computer-based); OR
- 80 with no individual score less than 20 (internet-based) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

August 2011
Program Fees
Payment will be paid by per semester x 4 semester (including GST).
Payment is due 6 weeks before the commencement of each semester. The fee covers course notes, readings, handouts, assessment briefings, students fee and assessment fees.
All applications should be accompanied by a non-refundable registration fee (including GST) and 1 passport size photograph.

Assessment Scheme
The program uses both formative and summative assessment methods. Subjects are assessed by either assignment online or sit-in examination. Assignment must be submitted to the University via Learning Management System (LMS) online access. Students will be informed of their results in writing.
Degree Awarded
The course is equivalent to the post-registration Bachelor of Nursing Degree course conducted by La Trobe University in Melbourne and students who successfully complete the course will receive the same award.
Postgraduate Studies
Students who successfully complete the post-registration Bachelor of Nursing course will be eligible to apply for entry into postgraduate studies.
Withdrawal
No refund will be made for accepted applicants.
Graduation
A degree conferral ceremony is held each year in Singapore. You can also request to graduate in Melbourne, Australia.
